There are numerous different acting techniques all with
their pros and cons. No one technique is right or wrong, in the
end what works for you is the best technique. I have listed below
a few books that I feel are a good starting point. The first is an
indepth, but very easy to read book by Robert Carne. 'Focus on
Acting', gives you a solid foundation upon which to build. Next
is the classic Meisner book, 'On Acting', followed by Harold
Guskin's book 'How to stop Acting'. The next book is 'An Actor
Prepares' by Stanislavski. The final book gives an outline
of a number of other traditional techniques. From here you should
be well informed, not only with a solid foundation, but also with
a vision forward to evolve your own way of working. Following
these are other items of interest.. |
